We blog. “Frog’s Blog”! So why do we do it? And should you perhaps get a blog for your business? What are the advantages and disadvantages of having a blog on your website? Why do so many people bother?

Advantages of having a business blog:
You can demonstrate your expertise. Show people that you know your stuff.
Google loves it – fresh content helps keep Google interested and helps you rise up in the search engine rankings
Drives traffic to your website. As people search for key words and topics they will stumble across your website.
WordPress is very powerful for SEO. It’s also easy to use AND you can schedule your blogs. So, if you have a flash of inspiration one week and suddenly write a few blogs, you can schedule them to go “live” at various times in the future.
You can tweet excerpts from your blog to attract visitors
Disadvantages of having a business blog:
Do you have something to say? If not then you may find blogging tricky!
Time consuming – you have to commit a certain amount of time to thinking of topics, researching and writing them
You have to be in the right frame of mind to write!
You will need to blog regularly to keep traffic flowing to your site (at least once a week). Give people a reason to keep coming back to see what’s new.
