The Client: Woodlands Surgery
The Brief: City based GP practice, Woodlands Surgery, has re-located to purpose-built premises at Eden House just off Hills Road on Bateman Street, Cambridge in a move that will offer wider health and wellbeing services for the local community.
Emerald Frog Marketing was selected to provide:
- marketing and PR services focusing on a complete re-brand for the surgery social media set up and training
- designing essential marketing materials
- design and build of the new Woodlands Surgery website.
The Results: Woodlands Surgery at Eden House has been designed specifically to create a modern building for the benefit of patients. The aim of the re-brand was to appeal to a wider and younger audience, and for this reason, it was agreed that the brand needed to reflect this through simplicity in design, clear and concise messaging and a user friendly website interface.
The name Woodlands surgery at Eden House, played a huge factor in the logo design. Incorporating a ‘tree’ that could then be used as a stand alone icon that patients would recognise as ‘Woodlands’. The idea of having services form a part of the ‘tree’ with core services at the top and secondary services underneath was carried through into the website design. This non-conventional design is very unique and our website developer had a field day with the coding! However, the end result is fabulous and provides the Woodlands surgery patients with a striking and easy to navigate home page taking them to whichever area of the website they need.
In addition to the design, Woodlands surgery asked to build in functionality for their PPG (Patient Participation Group) which is basically a forum for patients to join and discuss any topics, issues or concerns with each other. Ask questions of Woodlands medical staff and encourages wider community integration. Patients are also able to book appointments online through their ‘System Online’ booking portal, making appointment booking much more accessible.
Woodlands surgery will also be providing a range of private services, from travel immunisations and travel reports through to private medical assessments.
Community involvement is integral to the ethos at Woodlands Surgery, and they have plans to run a competition for local schools to provide artwork for the waiting areas in Eden House and promote a family-friendly environment. Located in the heart of Cambridge, Eden House will also offer opportunities for community groups and local businesses, including fully-equipped meeting rooms available for hire at low-cost. This message was communicated through PR to local media publications.
